Our Local Community Web site contest commemorates excellence in online media. From
best local community website to local Web site innovator of the year and everything
in-between; this contest represents the top web initiatives from community and suburban
newspapers while providing superb best practices for SNA members to explore.

These SNA awards recognize excellence in a variety of categories including best
local community initiative, best site architecture and overall design, best reader
interactivity, best advertising initiative, best niche product, best collaborative
effort, best vertical-specific classified product, best blog initiative, best video
initiative, and others. We also honor the best local community Web site and the
local Web site innovator of the year.
Daily and non-daily newspapers each have their own division, and are further divided
by circulation.
Eligibility Period
For entries that include initiatives that are not live on your current site, the
contest eligibility period is February 1, 2009 through February 1, 2010. See Official
Rules for more information.
Entry Deadline
All entries and payments must be received no later than midnight on March 31, 2010. Entries received after the entry
deadline will not be accepted.
Entry Fees
SNA member fees are $45 for the first entry plus $35 for each additional entry from
the same newspaper. Non-member fees are $80 for the first entry plus $60 for each
additional entry.
Judges
The panel of judges will include digital consultants and other leaders in the newspaper
online publishing world.
