About SNA
Regular Membership

Information

SNA has both corporate and regular memberships available to publishing companies with one or more newspapers. SNA members may be dailies, weeklies, free or paid. SNA members can cover suburban, urban or rural communities. Metro dailies are not eligible for membership. The news content of the member newspapers must be originated locally and be of general interest to the community for which the paper is published. Generally speaking, SNA member newspapers are the dominant source of local news and local advertising in the communities that they serve.

Annual Dues

Regular Membership dues are calculated based on a formula of .027 (i.e., just under 3 cents) multiplied by each unduplicated circulation copy. All mastheads published by that company within the same area will be counted for dues purposes. (Example: group of newspapers with 80,000 circulation: 80,000 x .027 = $2,160). The minimum cost for regular membership is $550; maximum cost is $3,895.

All dues will be pro-rated based on the month in which a new member first joins the association. Thereafter, all membership dues are renewable at the start of the new calendar year.
